It’s that time of the year - the semi-annual Legacy Community Garage Sale! While we have a headstart on the warm weather, it’s the perfect time to get out your junk and start sorting. Give others a chance to reuse items that you no longer need and get some cash in your pocket in return!

The Spring Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, rain or shine. The LCRA will help you get the word out about this event. We’ll put up signs, we’ll provide group advertising, we’ll provide maps to indicate the homes that are participating in the sale and we’ll put your list of items for sale together with the map so the bargain seekers can find your home and their target items faster and easier. The map and list will be handed out during the garage sale at all entrances to the community and will also be available ahead of time on the LCRA website at www.legacynet.ca.

To get on the map, all you need to do is pre-register by e-mail to YardSaleRegistration@legacynet.ca by 12:00 noon on Thursday May 24, 2012, and provide your name, address, phone number and list of the types of items you will be selling (i.e., household items, children’s clothes/toys, sporting goods or specific specialty items). Garage sale participants are reminded and encouraged to please submit or renew their $20 annual LCRA household membership before registering.

This year we’re calling for volunteers (attention all you students seeking community hours!) to hand out maps at both entrances of the community so that bargain seekers can receive the maps in the comfort of their cars. If you can help, please e-mail events@legacynet.ca
