Act Now! 2020 LCRA Membership Drive
In this unusual year, the LCRA seeks your support through membership in your neighborhood ratepayers' association. Act now and renew for 2020! Our membership drive closes on July 31, 2020. This is a very different year for all of us so read on for more details.
Over the years, the LCRA has maintained very high membership participation - among the highest in Markham. Legacy has around 850 households, and we have been proud to have around 150 households as members year in and year out. This is higher than many other neighborhoods, which is great because it gets the City of Markham's attention. We have tremendous success working with our elected officials and city staff, partly because they understand the depth of our organization.
Many of our annual memberships are gathered as "transactions" from our big summer events (buy $20 of tickets at our summer festival, or a family meal at the Corn Roast, and you are member for the year). Alas, the pandemic has forced us to cancel our spring events (Clean-Up, Garage Sale and Summer Festival) and our late summer Corn Roast remains at risk of cancellation (or, at best, delay until later in the year). So this year more than ever, we need your help maintaining our robust membership!
Since this is such a different year, we are doing something different: For 2020, we will be donating 50% of our collected membership proceeds to Markham-Stouffville Hospital, to assist in the fight against coronavirus. Memberships collected prior to July 31, 2020 will participate in this fundraising initiative. So please, act fast, and get those memberships in before the end of the month!

New for this year, we are accepting e-transfers. Simply e-transfer your $20 membership payment to payments@legacynet.ca with your name and local address, and we'll get you signed up.
